Please note the call times for this week's Marching Band events.  Some calendar details have been changed since the school year began, and Marching Band times are continually being updated as soon as we get information, so remember to check the website for dates and times often!

Dream Dinners was a huge success!  80 tickets were sold to buy new Marching Band uniforms for the upcoming season.  A special thanks to Lisa Dutton who organized the event!

 LAST WEEK'S GAME

The Marching Bands of both Glendale High and CVHS came together and created one massive band to perform the Star Spangeled Banner before the start of the game.  There was also some time for both bands to interact with each other.  For half-time, both bands got to perform their field shows for each other.  Pictures are now online!

 THIS WEEK'S GAME

Friday's game against Hoover High will be IN UNIFORM, even though it is an away game for CV.  Call time is 4:30 (4 for equipment).  This game will work much like last week's game against Glendale, with both bands sharing half-time and performing together.  Please note, CV will be sitting on the Visitor's side on Friday.

 NEXT WEEK'S GAME

Next week's game is Homecoming!  Call time will be 4:30.  The band will perform the field show before the game starts, and play different music during half-time for the Homecoming Court ceremony.

This is also Alumni Band Night!!  Any former CVHS band members are invited to participate with us in the stands!

 UCLA RECAP

Marching Band members got to experience quite an exciting college football game on Saturday, as UCLA defeated Cal 30-21! :)  Over 20 high school bands participated in UCLA's annual Band Day, performing "Sons of Westwood", "The Simpsons", and "Mighty Bruins" for the half-time show.  Pictures are posted online!

 LOARA BAND REVIEW

This Saturday is our 2nd competition of the season.  We will take a bus from CV in the morning to Pearson Park and we'll be competing at the Loara Band Review with our parade march, "Men Of Ohio".  Parade step-off time is 12:14pm, and the award ceremony is at 3pm.  Call time at CV is 7:45am (7:15 for equipment/uniform crews).

There is no competition next Saturday 11/3, due to SATs and CV Homecoming.  Enjoy the day off!

This year's trip will be 4/11 to 4/14 (Fri-Mon) and will cost $549.  The first deposit of $125 must be turned in by Wednesday, October 31 in order to reserve your spot for the trip!

Please contact Mr. Schick if you are interested in chaperoning for the trip.
