 FALCON NOTES

Graduation is around the corner! You look all around the music room and the signs are all around.  Seniors are checked out mentally, Juniors are wishing they were Seniors, Sophomores are excited that they are half-way through High School and Freshmen can't wait until next year so they can harass a new crop of incoming Freshmen.  It's a wonderful cycle!
So much has been accomplished this year to create wonderful memories of a great School year.  I look forward to next week and the end of the year banquet so we can share in all the accomplishments of the Instrumental Music Department.
Don't forget to come to the LAST Parent meeting of the year!  June 10, at 7:00pm will be a VERY Important meeting since we are extending an invitation to incoming Rosemont parents as well as finalizing our CVIM Board of Officers for the 2008-9 School Year!
Have a wonderful weekend!

 INSTRUMENTAL POPS CONCERT RECAP

I don't know how our kids do it every year, but last Friday was amazing!  Every group showed excelled as they performed in front of a packed house.  When everyone got together for "Whose that Masked Man," I stood on the ladder and my breath was taken away.  It looked like miles and miles of musicians from all directions.
The Pops concert is always a fun time to let the kids relax and play more contemporary and "popular" pieces.  Thank you for your support.
  DISTRICT SHOWCASE AT THE ALEX

Friday, June 6th is the Student Showcase at the Alex theater in Glendale.  A select group from the Symphony Orchestra will perform "Festival Overture" from Shostakovich as well as "Shepherds' Hey" by Percy Grainger.
The concert starts at 8:00pm.  Call time for the students is 9:00 at the Alex (in back near the tent)
  FINALS!

Finals will take place in all classes at the normal time with exception for Zero Period Concert Band.
Zero Period Concert Band will have a 3 day final.  Thursday the 12, Friday the 13, and Monday the 16th.  If we can finish our Finals on Monday the 16th, then Zero period WILL NOT meet during Finals.
LAST PARENT MEETING OF THE YEAR

Please make every effort to come to our last parent meeting of the year, Tuesday June 6th at 7:00pm.  The meetings are quick, informative and necessary for the growth and "sustainment" of the Instrumental Music Program.
