 FALCON NOTES

Greetings!
I am writing this a little shook up.  This morning one of our students was hit by a car going down Ramsdell.  The student suffered a badly broken leg and was very fortunate that nothing more serious happened.  However it is a grim reminder that drivers AND students must always watch and be careful around the School.  Too many times I have heard cars come to a screeching halt in front of the Instrumental Music Room.  We are lucky that more accidents haven't happened.  Parents, please, please, please do NOT go in the parking lot to drop off your students.  This adds to the congestion on the street as cars pull out of the parking lot with students walking into the parking lot to get to class.

 SPRING TRIP SPOT

The Spring Trip meeting went well, hopefully everyone is clear on rules, as well as the good time we will have!

 EVENTS CORNER

 MOORPARK REGIONAL FESTIVAL

Symphony and Concert Band received Superior ratings at their Festivals, which qualifies them to participate in a Regional Festival!  This year we were able to find openings at the MOORPARK REGIONAL FESTIVAL!  Regional festivals are festivals where only groups who receive Superior ratings at district festivals are allowed to attend.

DATE: Tuesday, April 22
TIMES: Call time - 1:45, return ~8:00pm


 JAZZ BAND FESTIVAL APRIL 5

Jazz band will be performing at the Fullerton college Jazz festival.  They perform at 9:00am and call time is 7:00am at CVHS. 
We will be taking a bus and should return around 2:00-2:30.

 PRACTICE MONDAY APRIL 21 - 3:15-5:30

In order to "brush off" the dust from Spring Break and prepare for Regionals, we will be having a mandatory practice for Concert Band and Symphony Orchestra on our first day back to school.

Band: 3:15-4:15
Symphony Orchestra: 4:30 - 5:30

It is important that everyone attends this essential practice so that we perform our best at Regionals. 
 OPEN HOUSE - WEDNESDAY APRIL 9TH

I look forward to meeting all of you again at Open House!  The Jazz Band will perform around 6:30pm in the quad and I will be available for questions in the Instrumental Music Room from 7:00 - 8:30pm.
