 FALCON NOTES

The dust has settled.. temporarily and we have a little breathing room in anticipation for our Spring Trip to San Diego in a couple of weeks.  We just had a successful chaperone meeting and each chaperone is ready to meet their groups on April 1st when we have the mandatory meeting for everyone attending the trip.

Each group did amazingly well this year at festivals.  Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band both earned Superiors at SCSBOA district festivals and will perform at an SCSBOA Regional Festival on April 22.  String Orchestra also earned a Superior Rating at an SCSBOA district festival and we are awaiting word if they can perform at a Regional festival.

I’m very proud of the hard work that everyone has put into making the Spring Festival season strong. As we transition into our “Pops” season, you should start hearing some familiar movie themes at home as students start practicing for the Pops Concert on May 30th.   Have a great weekend!

 MUSIC PARKING LOT -
          NOT A DROP OFF ZONE!

Please do not use the music parking lot as a drop off point for zero period!  Drop off your children on the sidewalk.  Other teachers need to get to their parking spots and the parking lot becomes too congested when other cars are dropping off students.  We’ve had a few close calls with car near-collisions or students almost getting hit by cars.

 SPRING CONCERT NOTES
Great Concert last week!  What a wonderful evening filled with great performances in all groups.  From the light English Shepherd’s Hey performed by the Symphony Orchestra to the bombastic “Fusion” by Concert Band, each group had challenging music to perform and rose to the occasion by giving one of the best performances ever for a CV Instrumental Concert.   Thank you for attending.  We had our highest attendance ever for a Spring Concert.
