FALCON NOTES My apologies for a delayed newsletter! This time it was a technical issue. Hopefully we'll be able to send out the newsletters on a weekly basis until School is out. I'd also like to say "Welcome" to the Rosemont parents and students who are receiving this email. Last week, the Jazz Band played at "Relay for Life" and helped motivate people to walk laps to help the American Cancer Society. We also had a dine out night at Grandview Palace, as well as the last week of AP Testing. Kurt Hensch is joining our staff as Drum Line Instructor for next year. Drum Line clinics will be Tuesday May 22 and May 29 with try-outs June 5th, and 7th. This week, we will be having our second Ensemble Concert of the year tomorrow night in the Choir room starting at 7:00pm. Extra credit will be given to those who attend. It is a free event, so come and support the wonderful sounds of Symphony players as they perform in duets, trios, and other small groups. Don't forget to purchase your tickets for the Instrumental End of the Year Music Banquet. This Friday is the last day to purchase tickets. JAZZ BAND & SYMPHONY TRYOUTS Jazz Band results can be found here! Symphony results can be found here! Congratulations to all who tried out and made it. The competition was tough! We have many wonderful musicians in La Crescenta!	JUNE CAR WASH - DATE CHANGE The Instrumental Department will be hosting a Car Wash to raise funds on Saturday, June 9. (The date was changed from June 2.) Six tickets were issued to each student and we are expecting each student to sell a minimum of 3 tickets. Money and tickets are due June 8th. Volunteers are needed for several shifts and sign-up sheets can be found in the music room!			ENSEMBLE CONCERT Enjoy an evening of intimate and enjoyable music. Come to the last Ensemble Concert of the year tomorrow, May 22nd at 7:00pm in the Choir Room. Admission is free!
POPS CONCERT AD SALES We are selling ad space for the huge, glossy, 8x11 Pops Concert Program. Ad forms are available from each student or from Mr. Schick. This is a great way to either advertise a business or give a "shout out" to friends or seniors. Contact Mr. Schick for more details.	SPRING SWING DANCE FUNDRAISER On June 9th from 7pm to 10pm in the Cafeteria, come and swing to the wonderful sounds of the CVHS Jazz Band. Admission is only $10.00 per person or $15.00 per couple. Light refreshments will be served. You will also learn to Swing Dance. Contact Lisa Heflin for reservations at (818) 248-9623			JUNE BOOSTER MEETING Thank you to everyone who came to the May booster meeting! We will have our last meeting of the school year on Tuesday, June 12 at 7pm. Everyone is encouraged to join us for this meeting, as we look back at the 2005-6 year and prepare for next year.
END OF THE YEAR BANQUET The End of the Year Banquet will be June 15th at La Canada Country Club from 6:00 - 11:00pm. If you haven't purchased your End of the Year Instrumental Music Banquet tickets yet, you have until this Friday. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. Tickets are $28.00 until Wednesday. The tickets go up to $34.00 if purchased Thursday or Friday!		FUNDRAISER UPDATE Dining Out: Thank you to everyone who went to Grandview Palace last week! The last dine out fundraiser for the school year is at Los Gringos Rapido on Thursday, June 14! Click here to download the flyer! June fundraisers: The department will be hosting a car wash and a Spring Swing Dance event on June 9! Volunteers are needed for both events!
