FALCON NOTES Florida is almost here! I can't believe that we depart in 20 days. The past 5 months have flown by! Our annual Spring Trip meeting, where we introduce the chaperones and pass out itineraries, will be Thursday April 5th at La Crescenta Elementary School at 7:00pm. Due to the CV auditorium being booked on April 5th I had to originally change the date to March 27th. However, I received a flood of emails and calls so I changed the date back to April 5th after La Crescenta Elementary School gave us permission to use their auditorium for the meeting. I apologize for the changes and understand that families have many activities which must be juggled. Sometimes events come up which are out of my control and I do my best to accommodate, but unfortunately they don't always work out for everyone. In this situation, I felt that it was best to stick with the original date and find another venue since the auditorium was booked. I hope you understand. Have a great weekend! |

FLORIDA UPDATE Due to many conflicts with the March dates, the meetings have been changed BACK to their original dates and times: The mandatory meeting* is on Thursday, April 5, at 7pm. This meeting is for all participating students and their parents. Every student must be present at the meeting with at least one parent. *This meeting will be at La Crescenta Elem School's Cafeteria, located at 4343 La Crescenta Ave. This meeting is so that parents and chaperones can meet and discuss trip issues. We will also pass out itineraries and a suggested packing list. If you are unable to make the meeting, please contact Mr. Schick immediately. The chaperone meeting is on Thursday, March 29 from 7-8m in the band room. |
SYMPHONIES FOR SCHOOLS Symphony
had an amazing experience today as they traveled to the Walt Disney Hall
to experience "Symphony
for Schools." They listened to the LA Philharmonic perform Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony and marveled in the beauty and majesty of the flowing "Disney Hall." |

FULLERTON JAZZ FESTIVAL When: Saturday, March 24, 2007 Where: Fullerton College: 321 E. Chapman, Fullerton, CA 92832 Who: Jazz Band What: A jazz festival to prepare for the Florida festival Report Time: 7:45am Perform Time: 9am - WU, 9:30am - Perf Dismiss Time: TBA What to bring & wear: Concert Dress, instrument, music. Misc.: Class officers will help warm-up and tune each group. |

BALDWIN PARK SCSBOA FESTIVAL Wednesday the 28th, Wind Ensemble and Concert Band will perform at the Baldwin Park SCSBOA Festival. Students will leave by bus at 10:20 and return to school by 2:30 - 3:00pm. Students should wear concert dress and bring necessary supplies for their instrument (extra reeds, etc...) There will be an opportunity to purchase snacks at the festival so bring extra Money. |
