FALCON NOTES March has arrived and we are already in the thick of things. Performances are a result of long hours of dedication and practice. We have many performance opportunities this month and I invite everyone to support our CV musicians. Tonight is opening night for our musical "Pippin." Complete performance days and times are below. You won't miss the spotlights as the show opens at 7:30pm. If you are free Saturday, go to Glendale High School and listen to our Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band perform in the annual GUSD festival. In two weeks, we will have our Spring concert. It is extremely important that you make time and attend this concert. I guarantee that you will be impressed and amazed. Each class is working on high level music and I am proud of the progress that each class is making. Every year, the concerts get better and better. Have a wonderful weekend! |

FLORIDA UPDATE
Please mark your calendars!
On Thursday, April 5, there is a MANDATORY meeting for all
participating students and their parents in the cafeteria from
7-8pm. Every student must be present at the meeting with at least
one parent. Medical release, code of conduct, and New Horizon Release forms are now available online. All 3 forms were due on Monday. If you do not have insurance, you will need to purchase it through Access America and give us a copy for our records. A tentative festival schedule has been added to the Spring Trip info page. |
GUSD FESTIVAL 3-3-07 Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band will be participating in the GUSD festival on Saturday, March 3. Groups from Rosemont, GHS, Hoover, Roosevelt, Toll, and Wilson will also be participating. Concert Band's call time is 7:45am. They will warm up at 8:30am and perform at 9am. Symphony's call time is 9am. They will warm up at 10am and perform at 10:30am. Please meet at CV at your specified call time and we will take buses to/from Glendale High School (1440 E. Broadway, Glendale 91205). There is NO charge for admission and I encourage everyone to go to the GHS auditorium to hear some outstanding music programs. |

PIPPIN Come watch the CVHS Performing Arts Department's spring , "Pippin"! The cast and orchestra have been working hard since January to put on an awesome show. Show dates and times are: |
SPRING CONCERT REHEARSALS The annual Instrumental Spring Concert is on Friday, March 16 at 7pm!!! In preparation for this concert, ALL GROUPS have mandatory rehearsals on Wednesday & Thursday, Mar. 14 & 15, and they will work the same way as the Winter Concert rehearsals. Rehearsals are from 3-5:30pm. Each group is only rehearsing for 15 minutes during those hours. Students are allowed to bring homework to work on during the "dead" time. Specific rehearsal times will be announced during the week of the concert. |

FESTIVALS March is festival month!! All instrumental groups will be participating in at least one festival during the month of March. Students were given an "upcoming event" slip today in class. All online calendars also contain information regarding festivals. Please go over these dates and make sure you are aware of the events. |

FLUTE CHOIR Auditions have begun taking place and will continue during lunch on March 5, 7, and 9. Audition requirements are: 4 scales (2 major, 1 minor, 1 chromatic) 1 Solo (2 minutes max) 1 sight-read See Mr. Schick for your audition time. |
FUNDRAISER UPDATE Dining Out: This month's dine out fundraiser will be at Baja Fresh on Thursday, March 15. Click here to download the flyer (required for fundraiser.) World's Finest Chocolate: All Boxes are gone. If we get enough interest, we will order more. See's Candy: Monday March 5th - Friday March 16th. |
