FALCON NOTES

Yet another exciting week has come and gone for the Instrumental music department.
The Marching band earned it's first ever "First Place" trophy in it's Band Review Competition Saturday at Loara.  Out of six bands in their category, they marched away with the first place trophy.  Way to go!
We have begun student presentations in Symphony Orchestra and continue our presentations in Jazz Band.  Presentations are a wonderful way to expose students to music and give them a chance to think critically about music.  Every student must fill out a listening reaction sheet during presentations which reinforces writing across the curriculum.
Cookie man fundraiser items are in.  They should have been picked up on Thursday or Friday.  Please check contents of each box when you pick up your order to make sure it is correct.  Thank you for your participation.
Have a wonderful week!

 CVIM UPDATE

Next month's booster meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 7 at 7pm.

 LOARA RECAP

The CVHS Mighty Falcon Marching Band made history this last Saturday!  They earned a first place trophy out of six other bands in their division at the Loara Band Review in Anaheim California.

It was a long day on Saturday for the Marching Band because after the Band Review, we started to prepare for our second field show competition.  Our goal for this show was to increase our point totals from last week.  Fortunately, we met our goal.  We worked over our problem areas and had a very strong performance.  There were 6 bands in our category, and even though we did not place, our scores showed a dramatic improvement over last weeks which shows that we are on the right track.  Next week at Chino, we expect to improve even more.

Overall, I am very proud of our improvement and especially impressed with the band review.  Keep it up!
