FALCON NOTES

We are in an exciting and busy time at CVHS.  The musical "Crazy for You." has just wrapped and became another classic at CVHS.
String Orchestra and Symphony are traveling to Long Beach for their SCSBOA festival on Tuesday.
We have rehearsals for everyone from 3:00 - 5:30 on Wednesday and Thursday this week for our annual Spring Concert on Friday.
Next week, Wind Ensemble and Concert Band travel to Burroughs on Friday for their SCSBOA Festival.
We have open house the week after and then we are off to San Francisco!
As I said, very exciting and busy times ahead.

Reminder: We are on CASHEE Schedule M-Th, which means block scheduling.
Monday & Thursday - Periods 4,5,6
Tuesday & Wednesday - Periods 1,2,3

Also, we are having a mandatory San Francisco meeting for parents and students on
March 30th from 7-8 to pass out and discuss the itinerary and last minute items.
Have a great week!

Musically yours, Mr. Schick

KIWANIS CAR SHOW - JAZZ BAND
RESCHEDULED FOR 4-2-06

The Kiwanis Car Show, originally scheduled for March 19, has been moved to Sunday, April 2, 12pm at Verdugo Park.  Meet at CV at 11am to set up and prepare.
"CRAZY FOR YOU" ENDS WITH ACCOLADES

As the last note resounded throughout the auditorium and the applause roared on Saturday, night, over 100 well deserved students finished a remarkable performance which they had been preparing for since December (and some last July.)  Many hours were spent making sure "Crazy for You" lived up to expectations.  Gershwin would be proud.
We had over 20 seniors in the pit orchestra and 3 who've been involved in the Pit for all 4 years.   Everyone who came up to me during intermission, or after the show commented on how musical and professional the Pit Orchestra was.
Good job everyone!  I am proud of you!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

The whole problem can be stated quite simply by asking, "Is there a meaning to music?"  My answer to that would be, "yes." And "Can you state in so many words what the meaning is?"  My answer to that would be, "No."
