FALCON NOTES This week was crazy, but extremely productive! We started exclusively rehearsing Holiday Music in all of our classes and narrowed down our selections for the Holiday Concert in December. Mark your calendars and plan to come on December 9th at 7:00 in the CV Auditorium to hear one of the finest Winter Concerts yet! The Marching Band continues to amaze everyone. At the Bonfire, where the Marching Band provided the only musical entertainment, we had the crowd dancing to our pep songs and drum cadences. The football Coach, ("Coach Eb") went out of his way to publicly praise the band. He told everyone that "the band works harder than the football team." Good job band! The Homecoming game was great. The Rosemont Students had a wonderful time and experienced a taste of high school marching band. We had the largest Alumni Band ever at CV. They sounded great during 3rd quarter and I was very happy to see all of them return for a night. Oh yea, the FB team won! They are beginning to work harder!! Pictures of the homecoming events and last week's UCLA game and football event will be up on Monday. Sorry for the delay. | In this issue: Web Links
SPRING TRIP UPDATE AND REMINDER The second payment of $100.00 for our Spring Trip to San Francisco and Monterrey is due Wednesday, November 2nd. Please make checks payable to CVHS. Any payments received after Thursday, November 3rd will be assessed a $5.00 late fee. Due to the rising cost of fuel, the bus company has raised their fees. As a result, the cost of our trip has gone up. Our travel agent has made every effort to minimize the impact on the overall price of the trip, and the increase is only an additional $20.00 per student. The total cost of the trip is now $420.00 per student. We still feel that this is a bargain considering all the amazing experiences available to the students on this trip. If anyone would like to cancel their participation on the Spring Trip because of this price increase, we will completely refund their initial deposit. Please issue the request in writing to Mr. Schick as soon as possible. The new payment schedule is online. (Dec. 7 - $80, Jan. 4 - $80, Feb. 1 - $85) We are terribly sorry about this last minute price increase.

HOMECOMING RECAP Our 5th annual Rosemont night went off with a resounding success! I'd like to thank all the parents who helped check in / out students and provide name tags for the rehearsal. The students had a great time and got to participate in a positive and exciting event. We hope to see all the Rosemont students in band next year! I would like to thank Dee Farnsworth and the Campana's for helping to organize the successful Alumni Band for Homecoming. The Alumni Homecoming band was amazing. It was great seeing so many students come back and play their instruments for us. I also enjoyed seeing some parents dust off their instruments and play with us for fun. They provided a great boost during 3rd quarter when the band took their break.
