FALCON NOTES
The first five weeks of school is in the books and we've done some pretty amazing things so far in the Instrumental music department. We've already accomplished the following: Performed at 5 football games, had 2 fundraisers, digitally recorded each class performing their music, sight-read numerous songs, had 4 scale tests (major and minor,) and as a result, each group sounds amazing. Thank you to everyone who participated in the cookieman fundraiser. Through your efforts, We were able to raise over $4,000 for the Instrumental music department. In this newsletter, we have information on our upcoming parent meeting this Tuesday at 7:00pm, Alumni Band information, upcoming fundraisers, and Spring Trip details. Have a great week and don't forget that we do have zero period for the Marching Band kids this Tuesday. |

OCTOBER PARENT MEETING |
ALUMNI BAND - HOMECOMING (10-28-05) Hi all you graduates. This is Dee Farnsworth, Will Long's mom, class of 05! I'm organizing the homecoming alumni band this year so please come and be part of the great fun we have during third quarter. YOU KNOW how great we sound and YOU KNOW that you want to be part of that! Homecoming is October 28, 2005. Call time is 6pm on the outside practice field (at Glendale High School) for a short practice. If you can't make it then, please just come late and join us in the stands behind the real band. We don't play until third quarter anyway. The real band does their halftime show BEFORE the football game at 7pm. Mr. Schick is putting the pep songs on the Falcon music website in case you forget them. We need an alumni drum major by the way........ Email me if you have any questions. deefarnsworth@earthlink.net Put "alumni band" in your subject heading so that I don't just delete your message. See you there!!!!!!!! - - Note from Schick: The music will be up by the end of this week. |

FOURTH AWAY GAME Burroughs was a tough game. Our Football team was unable to put points on the board, but the defense kept it very close until the end. We were invited to sit on the Burroughs side to watch their band perform at Half-time. It was an impressive sight. They sounded strong and looked very solid. | |||
FUNDRAISING UPDATES Cookieman Fundriaser: Items will be delivered in three weeks (around the end of October.) Musical Dinning: October 20th will be our next Musical Dinning. It will be at Baja Fresh. SPRING TRIP Spring trip forms were due last week. If you did not receive a form, or forgot to turn in the deposit, it isn't too late. The deadline has been extended by one week. We have 154 students signed up to go and about 26 parents who've requested to be chaperones. We can only have about 12 chaperones so I'll be contacting parents in the next few weeks regarding chaperone options. |
