Each class will have their first semester finals based on the following criteria:

 2ND SEMESTER INSTRUMENTAL RENTAL PAYMENTS
DUE BY FEB 8

Students who rent or use a School Instrument are reminded that the $45.00 Semester Rental fee is due by February 8th.  This money is essential for the repair and upkeep of School Instruments.  If you have any problems or concerns regarding this payment, please contact Mr. Schick or the Booster Treasurer.
SEVEN CVHS STUDENTS SELECTED TO SCSBOA HONOR GROUPS
On January 8, over 200 students descended on CVHS to audition for the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association High School Honor Band and Orchestra.  Overall, more than 800 students tried out at various School sites all over Southern California that weekend.  Every year the competition is fierce as students from Santa Barbara to San Diego all vied for spots in either the Honor Band or Orchestra. Out of the 12 students who tried out from CV, six were selected.  We are extremely proud of our students accomplishments.

The students who made the Honor Band are:
Jesse Buensuceso - Trombone, Irene Kim - Flute.

The Honor Orchestra: Matt Gray - Bass, Erin Kelly - Cello,
Neal Rea - Oboe, Andrea Kim - Piano

Both groups will perform a concert at Cal State Long Beach on Sunday, February 5th at 1:00 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center Center.  Admission is free.  For more information, please contact Mr. Schick.

We also had one of our students make the SCSBOA Jazz All stars.  Mike Gurrola - Bass.  They will perform at Disneyland on Feb. 25th
