FALCON NOTES It has been a fast and furious two weeks since school started! We finally have (almost) everyone seated in the proper places with instruments AND music in every class. Wind Ensemble has 6 students learning new instruments, String Orchestra is working on “Brook Green Suite,” Jazz Band is working on Improvising and big band swing tunes, Marching Band has already played at two events and Symphony Orchestra is deep into Buckaroo Holiday by Copland. I’m always amazed by the talent of our CV musicians and I hope to see you at a football game or other Instrumental music event. Have a great weekend! |

PARENT MEETING RECAP We had a strong meeting last Tuesday and over 50 parents showed up. Many people signed up to volunteer, yet we still need a few people to help out. If you are willing and have the time, please contact Ellen Newman at president@falconmusic.org to let her know. We need drivers, chaperones, and people to help with food for Marching Band. I hope to see all of you at the next parent meeting on October 14th at 7:00pm in the Instrumental Music Room.

MARCHING BAND AT FOOTBALL GAME, Sept. 11th at La Caņada HS Falcons beat the Spartans! It was our first public performance of this years field show “The 47 Ronin” and the CV Marching Band amazed everyone. Our Marching was cleaner that it’s ever been and our incredible music
echoed throughout Glendale! We are way ahead of last year and will
continue to grow and improve.
If you missed this game, come to the next one on September 19th. |
