FALCON NOTES Last week's message regarding bill ab351 touched many parents and I want to thank you for your responses. If you haven't yet written a letter, it's not too late. Please go to http://www.ab351.org/ for more information. Please look at www.falconmusic.org for some sample letters from actual CV parents and some facts about Marching Band's physical activities. The Superiors are continuing! Congratulations to Concert Band for their Unanimous Superior Rating at the Baldwin Park SCSBOA Festival on Wednesday. Wind Ensemble also earned a wonderful score of Excellent. Out of the 32 groups that performed at the festival, only 5 received Superiors. Way to go! CRAZY WEEK AHEAD - SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! The next week is jam-packed with Festivals, gigs, mandatory meetings, rehearsals and concerts!! Please check the Upcoming Dates below. Also go to the calendars online at www.falconmusic.org for more details about each event. Students, make sure you know where you are supposed to be, and when you are supposed to be there! A new team has taken charge of the website calendars, and is working hard to keep the calendars and online information current and up-to-date. Go check it out today!		LA CAÑADA FESTIVAL - STRING ORCHESTRA Date: FRIDAY, Mar. 27 Report Time: 7:30a.m.!! Don't be late! Perform Time: 8:45a.m. What to bring & wear: Arrive at CV on time, with instrument and music, dressed in CONCERT DRESS (see below)
"CONCERT DRESS" reminder for String Orchestra: GUYS - Black Dress shoes (no sneakers), black socks, black pants, white long sleeve shirt, tie of any color. Black sport jacket optional. GIRLS: Mid-calf length Black dress or black skirt with modest white blouse. Black dress shoes (no flipflops) Remember, ladies, this is a PERFORMANCE, not a party or a dance. Please dress appropriately.
SPRING TRIP: MANDATORY MEETING 4/1/09 The San Francisco Trip is right around the corner! And to make sure that everyone understands how these trips work, there is a MANDATORY MEETING for each trip participant and their parent. The meeting is on a NEW DATE: Wednesday April 1st at 7:00pm in the CV Auditorium.		FESTIVAL RECAPS Concert Band Unanimous Superiors in Performance AND Superior Rating in Sight Reading! Wind Ensemble Excellent Rating in Performance AND Excellent Rating in Sight Reading! Both Groups performed well and represented CV in a positive manner. Concert Band performed a very well known and standard piece by Holst called "2nd Suite in F." A Judge wrote," Great job on some very difficult music. It is always a risk when playing the Holst, Not only is it known by everyone but everyone has their favorite interpretation! Keep up the Hard Work!"

CHARMS Student's basic assignments are being entered into CHARMS. (sectionals, scales tests, and event attendance). No Extra Credit. To access CHARMS online, click here or type https://www.charmsoffice.com. Once you are on then Log In to Parent's Area, our school log in is: crescentav . To see your student's personal information, enter their GUSD ID#.		eSCRIP for RALPHS and VONS If you haven't done so already, please sign up for Vons Scrip and Ralphs Scrip. Download instructions here or visit www.falconmusic.org and click the link on the front page, or pick up a handout from the classroom. This is a very painless way to raise funds for our music department.
