FALCON NOTES
What a wonderful week it has been for the Instrumental Music Department. We had a very successful Car Wash Last Saturday which raised over $3,000 for the Instrumental Music Department. Thank you to Alex Schroeder and Paul Dutton for their dedication and planning. We washed about 125 cars on Saturday! Way to go! There was also a Swing Dance Dinner Last Saturday Night in the CV Cafeteria. Even though the turnout wasn't as huge as last year, we had a great time swinging with the Jazz Band and enjoying great food. Thanks to Maribel Sibulo and her husband Fernando for providing a wonderful atmosphere, organizing the dinner and ensuring that we all had a great time! Don't forget that this Saturday is the GUSD Festival for Band, String and Symphony Orchestra. We still need some chaperones for this Saturday! Have a great weekend! |

SPRING IS FESTIVAL SEASON Festivals are adjudicated performances where a musical group performs in front of 3 judges who have a copy of the musical score and take notes and make comments while the group is playing. The adjudicators then assign a "rating" to the group. Ratings range from "Superior" to "Poor" depending on the quality of the performance. There is no first place award which allows us to relax a bit and concentrate on musical excellence. Every CV Instrumental group performs at a festival. |
