FALCON NOTES Happy Holidays everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! As I type this, the Marching Band is getting ready to march down Honolulu Boulevard for the annual Montrose Parade! This is the season for an active Music Department as demonstrated by the fact that Jazz Band had their first holiday gig on Friday at the Oakmont country club and that Symphony performed with the Choral Department at the Feast of Lights both Thursday and Friday! Jazz Band has another gig on Sunday the 7th at the Burbank Hilton where they will play for the Assistance League. On Tuesday, come on down to Borders in Glendale to hear the Jazz Band perform from 6:15 - 7:15! It's a very busy time so get ready for some great music as we celebrate the Holiday Season! |

CANNED FOOD AND TOY DRIVE The instrumental music department is again participating in the School's annual canned food and toy drive. All food and toys will be donated to the La Crescenta Sheriff's department to be distributed to needy families. For the past 5 years the Instrumental music department has turned in the most toys and canned food. Every year the school has a class competition to encourage more students to donate. I am asking for your help to ensure that the music department is the leader of demonstrating the generosity of the spirit of the season. Cans are worth 1 point. Toys are worth 15 points. The music department will provide extra credit to each student who brings items. 1 point = 1 point of extra credit. The drive ends on Wednesday the 10th, but we need to bring things in every day! |

A copy of this downloadable handout was passed out to each student and we are having a competition to see which class signs up the most people. 100% participation = class pizza party 75% participation = donuts 50% participation = popsicles This is an easy way to raise funds for our music department.
