FALCON NOTES As we enter into our last week of School before the Holiday Break, I sincerely hope that this year has been kind to everyone. Every year has its challenges and this year is definitely not an exception. It's been tough all around, but hopefully we've been able to provide some support through music. Few people realize that high school is more than just a means to college or beyond. It's a place where students learn to express themselves creatively, socially, build life skills which help them connect to the world. I have the wonderful task of seeing 270 students everyday and this week was special. Band and Symphony participated in a Secret Santa gift exchange where students gave small presents every day this week. Today they revealed Secret Santa's to everyone. Each class acted like a family and shared in the joy with everyone when presents were given and Santa's revealed. Seeing my students in a setting other than day to day rehearsing is extremely refreshing. Especially when it is evident that they are building lasting friendships. I love my job! |
