FALCON NOTES Sorry to miss you all last week. We were swamped with La Palma, Senior Recognition night, and Rosemont Football night. It's been a busy first quarter and a very hectic last two weeks. We've had an ensemble concert, two parade competitions, a football game and a field show competition. It never ends! In this sometimes frantic time, we forget to pace ourselves and use our time wisely. It's important to rest, but it is also important to prioritize time. I would just like to remind everyone to please be sure and come to the parent meeting next week on the 18th. We will be talking about the upcoming Winter Concert, Fundraising opportunities and Instrumental needs. UPCOMING MUSICAL EVENTS • The Choral Department will be presenting their annual Feast of Lights on Dec. 4th & 5th. Don't miss it! • Plan to come and enjoy a festive evening at the annual Montrose Christmas Parade, the evening of Saturday, Dec. 6. This is a great opportunity to join the whole community and see the CVHS Marching Band, as well as all the other Glendale school bands (and a few 'out of town' bands!). • The INSTRUMENTAL WINTER CONCERT will be December 19th (not December 5th. as some earlier calendars said.) Mark the date and plan to attend with the whole family! Start Winter Break with the sounds of the season!			INFORMATION FOR MARCHING BAND EVENTS • FRIDAY 11/4 - FB v. ARCADIA away Call time: 5:30pm. SYMPHONY ENSEMBLE CONCERT, BAND SENIOR RECOGNITION, & LA PALMA PARADE Symphony's fall Ensemble Concert was a wonderful evening of unique and varied performances by small groups of students. 26 Seniors were recognized at Friday's football game. 19 of them have been in Marching Band all four years!! GO SENIORS!! The La Palma Parade competition was CV's day to shine! The Color Guard and the Marching Band both took home First Place trophies! Check out the website soon for more pictures!			FOOTBALL GAME 11-21-08 Due to the success of the varsity football team, we are going to the first round CIF game on November 21st. More details to follow. If we win this game, we will be going to the November 28th football game. Go Falcons!!
			GRADES Quarter Grades were mailed out this week! Students can check a detailed breakdown of all their points, posted in the classroom. If you think there is an error, please fill out a pink Grade Question slip explaining IN DETAIL what you think the error is so we can look it up and address it. Sectionals missing? Scales tests low? Attendance spotty? Points lost for talking, eating, un-numbered measures?? Please use these quarter grades as indicators of where you need be more consistent or apply more effort!
CHARMS Check CHARMS to see if your student is keeping up with their assignments (sectionals, scales tests, and event attendance). To access CHARMS online, click here or type https://www.charmsoffice.com. Once you are on the Log In to Parent's Area, our school log in is: crescentav To see your student's personal information, enter their GUSD ID#. Once on their personal site, you may reset that password if you wish.				SIGN-UP for SAN FRANCISCO TODAY! ->After Nov. 25th, there will be a $40 late fee. The Spring Trip this year is going to be great! Sign up today and don't miss out on the Golden Gate! Great America Theme Park! Dinner Cruise & DJ!!! Off-Broadway production of "42nd St"! And of course, a visit to UC Berkely, Heritage Competition, and Awards dinner/dance! Be a part of it all!
