FALCON NOTES It has been an incredible year for CV Instrumental Music. Jazz Band has already had 4 successful performances in the community, our school was an audition site for the SCSBOA High School Honor groups. Six CV Students marched in the Rose Parade with the Pasadena TOR Honor Band and Three CV students were accepted into All Southern Groups and 2 students made it into the All State Band. We have been incredibly fortunate this year with donations and grants. All the High Schools in Glendale received $25,000 from the Sexton Foundation to purchase Instruments. CV has also received around $4,000 from outside grants and donations this semester. This money has already been spent in acquiring desperately needed instruments. The grant money does not go to "day-to-day" expenses like festival fees, buses, music, or trips. We were able to purchase a Marimba, 2 tubas, 2 sousaphones, 2 marching euphoniums, 1 horn, 1 euphonium, a bass drum, chimes, and 1 alto flute. This is a great step in getting the amount of instruments needed to catch up with the growth of the music department. |
