FALCON NOTES

Sorry for this being late.  After the concert I had a full weekend and am looking forward to spending the next two weeks after school at home with my family.
We had a great concert on Friday.  Our students looked good and acted very professionally.  I was impressed by the energy and excitement of each performance.  The video crew even commented on how wonderful we sounded. 

Don't forget to buy a box of World's Finest Chocolates to take home over the holidays.  The next Florida payment is January 12!  We have 16 boxes ready to go!

Thank you to everyone who helped out at the concert.  Without your help, the concert would not have been a success!

 WINTER CONCERT

What a fabulous Winter Concert!  Every group did amazingly well.  I especially enjoyed the clarinets in "First Noel" from Wind Ensemble, "Yo Tannenbaum" from Jazz Band (as well as the solos in Rockin!) and "Let it Snow" from String Orchestra.
I also thought "Uncle Joe" Benson added a fine touch to Symphony's "T'was the Night Before Christmas" and I always think it's impressive when Marching Band enters the auditorium in Uniform.  Everyone should be proud and happy for a job well done.
This was one of the highest attended concerts we've ever had at CV. 
As you know, the concert was video taped and will be shown on Channel 15 starting on Friday.

 FUNDRAISER UPDATE

Dec 9 or 16, Sat 10am-6pm

Afterwards you reward yourself with a pat on the back for being a successful multi-tasking wonder while being the envy of your friends because you were so “on top of it” during the holiday season!

World's Finest Chocolate:  Start selling Chocolate now!  You can raise $25 for every box of 50 candy bars you sell toward Florida.  Get forms from Mr. Schick.  One student has already earned $150.00 towards Florida!  Get your boxes now!
Remember, you CAN NOT sell the candy bars on campus.
 PIT ORCHESTRA AUDITION FORMS

Musical auditions have been moved to Wednesday-Friday, January 3-5, 2007.  Time slots for Friday have already been filled.

If you are still interested in trying out for the Spring Musical pit orchestra, pick up a form from Mr. Schick to sign up for an audition time.  Time slots will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

Official audition times are now posted online.

 TOURNAMENT OF ROSES HONOR BAND

 Just a reminder to support our CV Falcons as they march down Colorado during New Years!

If you want to watch them and other bands in the Rose Parade, go to www.sharpseating.com and order tickets!  Hurry because they are selling out!

  DCI TICKETS

This year is the only time that the DCI finals will be in Pasadena.  The deadline to get tickets with CVHS is this Friday.  We are going Saturday August 11th.  Tickets are $60.00 each.   Please make checks payable to Stephanie Lim.
 CVIM BOOSTER MEETING

Thank you to everyone who attended last Tuesday's Booster Meeting!

There is no meeting scheduled in December.  The next meeting will be Tuesday, January 9 from 7-8pm.
