FALCON NOTES I hope all of you had time over the Thanksgiving break to spend with family, friends and loved ones. It was a nice way to take a breath for the stretch before the Winter Break. Now that our "breather" is over, we have a full plate ahead of us. Our Jazz Band is playing this Wednesday for the opening of Cal National Bank from 11:30-12:00. The Marching Band will be performing at the annual "Montrose Christmas Parade" this Saturday. Mickey Rooney will be the grand marshal. The call time for marching band is 4:00 and the parade kicks off at 6:00pm. We need parent driversfor both Jazz Band and Marching Band events. If you are available, please contact Mr. Schick at Mschick@gusd.net I can't believe that next week is our Winter Concert! I hope to see you all there. Have a great week! |

CVIM BOOSTER MEETING CHANGE THIS Tuesday, November 28 will be our last CVIM Booster meeting of 2006. All meetings are in the Instrumental Music Room from 7:00-8:00. Topics include the holiday concert (decorating, snacks, ticket sales, etc) and last minute fundraising opportunities. There will NOT be a meeting in December. Read the new message by CVIM President Susan Stanley by going to the Booster page. PIT ORCHESTRA AUDITION FORMS Musical auditions for both cast and pit have been postponed until the first week of January. Already assigned auditions will be changed to the Jan. 3-5, corresponding to the original time slots during Nov. 29-Dec. 1. If you are still interested in trying out for the pit orchestra for the spring musical, pick up a form from Mr. Schick for an audition time (an online version will be available to download soon). The earlier you turn in your form, the more chance you have at getting the time slot that you want. |

WINTER CONCERT REHEARSALS In preparation for the Instrumental Winter Concert on Friday, Dec. 8, ALL GROUPS have mandatory rehearsals on Wednesday & Thursday, Dec. 6 & 7. Rehearsals are from 3-5:30pm. Each group is only rehearsing for 15 minutes during those hours. Students are allowed to bring homework to work on during the "dead" time. Specific rehearsal times will be announced next week. |

REHEARSAL UPDATE: Marching Band There will be rehearsal THIS Thursday, Nov. 30. It will be the last rehearsal for Marching Band. This should be short (4:00 - 5:30) and will be used to practice for the Montrose Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 2. |
