Misc:  This is our first Ensemble Concert of the year.  It's a great evening of fabulous music performed by students who form their own groups, select their own music and schedule time to practice on their own.

What: Band Camp - we learn the field show, pep songs, and Parade March for the year.
Report Time: 9:00 a.m.  (9:00-12:00 on the 19th ONLY - for Band Orientation)
Dismiss Time: 4:00 p.m.     (Lunch break from 12:00 - 1:00) 
What to bring & wear: Comfortable Clothes ( i.e. Tennis shoes, (no sandals), shorts, t-shirt, hat, sun glasses).  Suntan lotion, water, instrument, pencil, notebook, lunch or $$ for lunch. 
Misc: We will be outside at least 3-4 hours a day.  There will be a cooler provided where students can store their own water bottles.  Make sure to write your name on your bottle before you place it in the cooler.    If you don't have an instrument, you will be able to rent one during Band Camp.
YES!!  Band Camp is Mandatory!!!  It is vital that we all attend because we will be learning our field positions and we all remember how crazy it was last year when we had to "relearn" it once school started. 

Beach Trip 
When: Saturday August 24th, 2002
Where: Zuma Beach  (meet at CVHS first)
Who:  Marching Band Musicians and Drum Line
What: Relaxing Beach trip to break up an intense Band Camp
Report Time: 9:00 a.m. at CVHS
Dismiss Time: 4:00 p.m. (we will leave Zuma around 3:00 p.m.)
What to bring & wear: Beach gear!!!  (Frisbee, volleyball, football, boogie board, etc..) Bathing Suit, Suntan lotion, blanket, lunch
Misc: This is a great time to relax with your newly made friends and enjoy a day at the beach.  
We will need some parent volunteers to help drive kids to the beach.  Please contact Mr. Schick ASAP.  Click on Zuma Beach to find out more information about the beach.

Drum Line Practice 
When: Monday August 12th - Friday 16th, 2002
Where: CVHS Instrumental Music Room and field
Who:  Drum line and Marching Band Percussionists

Misc: This practice is so that we can adjust the line and begin to learn the field show music.  All marching band percussionists must attend unless prior you have a prior commitment.  I know this is last minute.
